The Downtown Master Plan calls for pedestrian promenade on Centennial Mall. The Downtown Master Plan called for opening Centennial Mall to vehicular traffic between P & Q and possibly Q & R.

The Centennial Mall design team recommends that Centennail mall not be opened to vehicular traffic. Rather, the colse blocks should be designed to accommodate special events and activities for children, families and UNL students. If approved, this will require an amendment to the Downtown Master Plan.
